What Are You Committed To?

In New England, as playful , warm summer days slowly turn to a more directed and structured fall, (remember, the first official day is not until September 21st), this has always traditionally been regarded as the time to re-evaluate and recommit to where we want to focus our energy.

Making a commitment to yourself, your relationships and your values is one of the most powerful steps you can take toward a life of abundance. Sometimes we say we're committed to certain things, but we're not really willing to do the work required.

This week observe yourself in order to clarify and strengthen your commitments. You may become aware of certain things that you say you are committed to, but you don't follow through sufficiently. On the other hand, there may be things that you've never acknowledged as a commitment and yet your commitment shows up in the time and energy that you spend.

As you become more aware of your actions, behaviors and priorities, you can choose more consciously where you want to focus your time and energy.

An Exercise to Strengthen Your Commitment

Putting pen to paper always creates more power behind our intentions. Today I suggest you fill in the blanks below, and then watch what shows up for you!

My commitment to well-being is: _____________________________________________________________
My commitment to my family/relationships is: __________________________________________________
My commitment to my business is: ____________________________________________________________

Anything else? _____________________________________________________________________________

Skin Resurfacing Pads to the Rescue!

Many of you have already been enjoying the wonderful benefits of this at home exfoliating and anti-aging skin system. These wonder pads eliminate dead cell build up and help promote a clearer and more radiant complexion.

But did you know they are also great for removing those pesky and irritating skin tags? This is usually a procedure you need to visit a physician for, and is not always covered by insurance.

If this is a problem for you, I can explain how to resolve this yourself in an easy and comfortable way.

Health Alert! Worse Than Trans Fats?

Beware of a new guy in town, interesterified fat. Think "interest" "terrified"!! This is quickly replacing trans-fatty acids to ensure long shelf life.

Interesterified fat is a modified form of fat that is hydrogenated and then rearranged on the molecular level. This process hardens fat in much the same way as the process that creates trans-fatty acids.

So buyer beware, stay smart and continue to read your ingredient labels.

Creative Broccoli Salad

Be as creative as you like with the measurements and optional add-ons. I usually make a double recipe, as it will seem like a lot, but then shrinks down as it marinates. And trust me it will go fast!

Put in large bowl:
1 head Broccoli, chopped
1 bag Broccoli Slaw mix
2 Carrots, grated
1/4 cup Raisins or Dried Cranberries
1 package uncooked Ramen Noodles, smashed up, optional, but yummy!

Whisk dressing in smaller bowl and toss with veggie mixture.

1 cup Plain Yogurt
2 Tbs. Mayonnaise
1/4 cup Orange Juice
2 Tbs. Apple Cider Vinegar
1-2 Tbs. Honey or Sweetener of choice
Salt and Pepper to taste

Optional, just before serving, you can add toasted sunflower seeds, walnuts, pecans, or slivered almonds.
