Transforming Fear

Transforming FearDuring the Winter Olympics, the topic of fear came to my mind often. I watched, holding my breath as amazing athletes performed some potentially life threatening sports.

Everyone has fears, it is a natural part of being human. Sometimes we look at others that don't seem to have any, but it is only that they have found ways to make fear their ally. They look at fear as excitement, challenge, or an opportunity for growth, instead of something to avoid at all cost.

Fear can protect us from harm by sending a rush of adrenaline to help us physically deal with potential danger. But there are times when it can stop us from participating fully in life. Once we realize that fear is a state of mind, we can choose to face our fears, welcome the opportunity for expansion and create the life we want to live.

Every time you take a step out of your comfort zone, you may feel your heart racing but you will be rewarded with a boost of confidence by the accomplishment. Be gentle with yourself, and acknowledge every small step. To paraphrase a famous quote, the longest journey starts with a single step.

Remember, it is not the absence of fear, but the courage to take action anyway that determines success. Be mindful of attachment to the outcome, you are successful by simply taking the step, trusting that each step will bring you closer. When we learn to make friends of our fear, we learn to observe our thoughts and feelings and not be paralyzed by them. Instead we have the choice to move forward in shaping the fullest lives we desire.

Peace on your journey,

Beth Ann

Celebrate Spring with an Angel Gathering!

With the weather promising a sigh of relief ahead, people are starting to think about venturing out of their cocoons and reconnecting to the human race.

Many of my clients that have found comfort and support with an Angel Reading have requested I visit their homes to share with a group of friends and as a means to enjoy a girls night out.

An Angel Reading consists of using Angel, Fairy, Unicorn and other beautiful oracle cards to help provide clarity, support and direction for life's concerns.

Angel Gatherings can be hosted at your home, workplace or at reVive in Stoneham. Further information can be found here.

Spring Greens SoupSpring Greens Soup

This recipe is geared to be used with an immersion blender, but no worries, if you don't own one, a blender will do the trick.

1 medium Onion, halved and sliced
1 Tbs. Olive Oil
3 cups Vegetable Broth
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. freshly ground Pepper
12 oz. Yukon Gold Potatoes, quartered
3 cups Mushrooms, sliced
2 Tbs, Butter
3 cups Spinach Leaves
3 cups Arugula Leaves
2 cups Italian Parsley

  1. In saucepan, cook onion in oil over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add broth and pepper. Bring to boiling. Add potatoes and return to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in large skillet cook mushrooms in butter over medium heat 6-8 minutes until tender and liquid has evaporated; set aside.
  3. Remove saucepan from heat. Use immersion blender to blend onion-potato mixture until almost smooth. Add spinach, arugula, and parsley. Return to heat. Bring to boiling; remove from heat. Using immersion blender; blend soup again until nearly smooth and flecks of green remain. Season to taste with salt. Serve immediately, topped with sauteed mushrooms and additional fresh arugula.
