The Quest for Happiness - Part 2 (Part 1 may be viewed here.)

There's an old Hindu legend that says that at one time, all men on earth were gods. But men abused their divinity, and Brahma, the god of all gods, decided that the "godhead," the source of their happiness, should be taken away and hidden someplace where they would never find it. "Why don't you bury it?" asked some of the gods. "No," said Brahma, because man will dig down in the earth and find it. "Why not sink it in the ocean?" they then asked. "No," said Brahma, "because man will learn to dive and find it there." "Hide it on the highest mountain," they said. "No", said Brahma, "because man will someday climb every mountain on earth." "Then where shall we hide it?" they asked. Brahma answered "Hide it down inside man himself. He will never think to look there."

We all have the ability to find the happiness within ourselves. We just have to look for it!

The Whole Truth

I hear so many misconceptions about skin care touted as the truth. The following are a couple of myths I would like to lay to rest.

Myth: Natural and Organic ingredients are completely safe.
The word 'natural' is being used very loosely in the cosmetics industry today. Some natural materials have been around for thousands of years and there's a perception that they are safer than man-made ingredients. But before incorporating them into topical skin preparations natural materials still have to be closely scrutinized to prevent unwanted side effects. There's a belief that natural product don't contain chemicals, but everything in existence is made of chemicals, including our own bodies!

Myth: All skincare products are essentially the same.
Clinical results and scientific research have proved that all skincare products are not the same. The difference usually lies in the degree and integrity of the active ingredients. Less expensive, over-the-counter products are manufactured for the general consumer instead of targeted to individuals with specific skincare needs. These mass-produced items usually contain a lower percentage of active ingredients to help insure that they're safe for everyone.
